Leduc man arrested after threatening to blow up his residence

Leduc, Alberta -
Leduc RCMP were called to a Caledonia residence in Leduc on January 16 at approximately 12:40 p.m. in response to threats being uttered to cause an explosion within the residence. Leduc RCMP negotiated with the suspect and lone occupant of the residence for approximately 10 minutes before taking him into custody without incident. A 39 year old man from Leduc is in custody with charges pending. A propane tank and a jerry can were seized from the residence by Leduc RCMP. 

 Neighbours close to the affected residence were advised to shelter in place as a precaution until the situation was resolved. There is no longer any threat to public safety and the investigation continues. The suspect in this case was known to police and no one was injured in this event.
