Airdrie RCMP Investigate Altercation at Chinook Winds Skatepark

RCMP Alberta- The Airdrie RCMP are currently investigating an incident that took place at Chinook Winds Skatepark last week.  On Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at approximately 7:30 pm, Airdrie RCMP were dispatched to the Chinook Winds Skatepark with reports of an altercation between a 10-year-old youth and 13-year-old youth. As the matter involves youth, the RCMP will not be releasing the results of the investigation nor will names or photographs be released due to legal requirements.

The Airdrie RCMP acknowledge that there is information on Facebook and some other social media platforms regarding this incident. The RCMP want to remind the public that posts and comments made on social media can easily diminish the RCMP’s ability to obtain independent, untainted information from witnesses. Social media posts invariably distort and exaggerate information.

The Airdrie RCMP want to remind the public to use caution and be careful of what they post to social media especially when the matter may involve a criminal component.
