Cochrane RCMP Investigate Injury Collision on Hwy. 22

RCMP Alberta - On June 17, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., Cochrane RCMP, along with Redwood Meadows Fire, EMS and STARS, responded to a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV on Highway 22 between Redwood Meadows and Bragg Creek, approximately 25 kilometres south of Cochrane. A southbound motorcycle with two occupants collided with a southbound SUV that had stopped for traffic congestion. STARS air ambulance landed and assessed the injured female passenger of the motorcycle. She was then transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

South and north bound traffic on Hwy. 22 was impacted for approximately one hour while the patient was treated and the investigation was conducted.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation. At this time, alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
