Whitecourt RCMP investigate fatal collision

RCMP Alberta – One man is dead and three others were injured after a two vehicle collision on Highway 43.

Just after midnight on June 7, 2018 Whitecourt RCMP were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on Highway 43 east bound near Range Road 104A. Preliminary investigation suggests that an east bound sedan rear ended an east bound pickup causing it to roll.

A 48 year old male passenger of the pickup was pronounced dead on scene. A 16 year old passenger of the pickup was transported to hospital and is listed in stable condition. The driver of the pickup truck was treated on scene for minor injuries.

Criminal code charges are pending against the 28 year old male driver of the sedan who received minor injuries.

Alcohol was a factor in this collision.
