Boyle RCMP Locate and Arrest Impaired Driver on a Farm Tractor

RCMP Alberta – On July 29 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Boyle RCMP responded to a complaint of a male on a tractor causing property damage to a golf course just south of Wandering River, Alberta. The tractor fled the scene prior to Police arriving. Police searched the area and located the male suspect and the tractor.

While Police were speaking to the male, an impaired driving investigation was conducted which resulted in the male being arrested and charged.

Bobby Trefanenko, 60-year-old male from Wandering River, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences;

· Impaired Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle

· Refusal to Provide a Breath Sample

· Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

· Driving While Disqualified

· Mischief Over $5000.00

· Uttering Threats

“This month the detachment participated in the provincial monthly traffic initiative, which was focused primarily on impaired driving.”, says Cst. Andrew Deme of the Boyle RCMP. “Detachment members concentrated patrols on rural roads, and checking driver’s sobriety of everyday passenger vehicles, but also off-road, and other motorized vehicles. We continue to thank the members of the public reporting these impaired drivers.”

Trefanenko is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on Tuesday, August 14 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Boyle.
