Drug fueled southern Alberta crime spree = busted

RCMP Alberta – On July 1, 2018 the RCMP in Cochrane were kept busy with numerous reports of a suspicious male in the Bragg Creek and Redwood Meadows area. The crime spree started in Priddis, AB at approximately 10:00 a.m and ended with the male suspect being arrested at a gas station in Bragg Creek, AB at approximately 1:30 p.m. All of the vehicles and property that were stolen, have since been recovered and the male who was bear sprayed was not transported to hospital.

Thomas Hildenbrand (25) of no fixed address has been charged with Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, 2 X Theft of Motor Vehicle, Theft Over $5000 and Mischief. Hildenbrand was released from custody and is next scheduled to appear in Cochrane Court on July 24, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.

Rural residents provide the RCMP with local intelligence. Members of the community know when there are strange vehicles in the area, suspicious behaviours being observed or knowledge of attempted crimes. When the RCMP receives this information it assists with the deployment of resources. The public is encouraged to report crimes that have been committed, no matter how small. This feeds into the RCMP’s larger intelligence picture.

Anyone with information regarding this string of events are asked to contact the Cochrane RCMP detachment at 403-851-8000.
