Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit seizes ammunition and drugs

RCMP Alberta – The Alberta RCMP’s crime reduction strategy uses intelligence-led investigative tactics to target the repeat offenders who harm our communities the most.

On July 11, 2018, members of the RCMP Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit (EADRCRU) conducted an intelligence-led operation in Saddle Lake to locate and arrest a wanted male from Athabasca on multiple outstanding warrants dating back to 2015 and St. Paul from earlier this year.

Lucas Marler (32) of Athabasca County, was found hiding in a basement of a residence in Saddle Lake and arrested without incident.

Also found at the property was a vehicle associated to him and other criminal offences. The vehicle was seized and a search warrant was executed which led to the seizure of a small quantity of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition inside.
