Man charged after gas incident in Grande Prairie

RCMP Alberta – On July 18, 2018 Grande Prairie RCMP and the Grande Prairie Fire Department responded to a complaint of a natural gas leak at a residence in the Ivy Lake Estates area. Gas to the residence was quickly turned off to ensure safety to the community. Further investigation indicated that a male in the residence had cut the gas line and was threatening to cause an explosion. Police entered the residence and arrested the male without further incident.

Sylvain Campion (52) of Grande Prairie, Alberta has been charged with Mischief and Obstruction.

Campion has been remanded in custody and will appear in Grande Prairie Provincial court on July 30, 2018.
