Clerk of Legislative Assembly of Alberta retires after 25 years of service

Government of Alberta - Speaker Robert E. Wanner announced today that Robert Reynolds, Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, will be retiring at the end of September 2018.  “Rob Reynolds will be leaving his position following a career spanning a quarter-century at the Legislative Assembly Office and attaining the Clerk position in 2016,” said Speaker Wanner.

“In total, Mr. Reynolds has spent more than 30 years in the Alberta Public Service and I thank him for his work for the province.”

Mr. Reynolds said, “This has been a difficult decision for me as so much of my professional career has been spent supporting the Legislative Assembly, its Members and staff. I am fortunate to have my health and want to be able to expend my energies pursuing other opportunities at this time. I have been very fortunate to enjoy the love and support of my family throughout my career.”

In addition to it being a great honour to work with a dedicated team of professionals at the LAO, Mr. Reynolds added that he would like to thank Speaker Wanner and former Speakers for providing the opportunity of working at the Assembly.

“I leave the LAO knowing the people who work here are well-suited to meet whatever challenges may lie ahead,” said Mr. Reynolds. “They provide a great service to the Members of the Legislative Assembly and to the people of Alberta.”
