RCMP Alberta – On Aug 3, 2018 Elk Point RCMP responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on the Frog Lake First Nation. It was alleged that two suspects used bear spray and discharged several rounds from a firearm at the outside of a residence before fleeing in vehicles. No-one was injured.
While investigating police received a separate call regarding a male that was stabbed at another residence. Police responded and located a male youth victim at the residence with serious life threatening injuries. He was flown to Edmonton via STARS due to his injuries but was released a short time later.
Through further investigation two suspects were identified and arrested. Police do not believe this was a random incident.
Darcy Stanley (19) of Frog Lake has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
· Discharge a firearm
· Careless use of a firearm
· Assault with a weapon
· Fail to comply with probation order (X3)
He was remanded into custody and will be appearing in St. Paul Provincial Court on Aug. 23, 2018.
A 16-year-old male youth who cannot be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act was also arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
· Discharge a firearm
· Careless use of a firearm
· Assault with a weapon
· Aggravated assault
The youth was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Aug. 21, 2018.
