Homicide on the Paul Band First Nation - charges laid

RCMP Alberta – Two people have been charged in the homicide of 31-year-old Ellie Mae House of the Paul Band First Nation.

On August 17, 2018, after an extensive search consisting of resources from RCMP Emergency Response Team North, Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Team, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Cold Lake Detachment, and RCMP Bonnyville Detachment, two suspects were located at a residence on the Cold Lake First Nations, and were arrested in relation to the investigation.

Nora Flora Papin (31) of Paul Band First Nation is charged with second degree murder and has been remanded into custody. Papin is due in Stony Plain Provincial Court on August 22, 2018.

Neil Benjamin Morin (33) of Paul Band First Nation is charged with second degree murder and has been remanded into custody. Morin is due in Stony Plain Provincial Court on August 22, 2018.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
