Passenger causes disruption on Via Rail train

RCMP Alberta - On Monday, August 13 at approximately 9:20 p.m. Viking RCMP were called to assist Via Rail staff with an unruly passenger on one of their trains en route from Vancouver to Toronto. Staff advised an intoxicated male on board was causing issues for staff and being belligerent to other passengers, forcing them to make an unscheduled stop in Viking.

Viking RCMP attended and arrested a 59 year old male passenger from Windsor, ON. The stop caused very little disruption for the train passengers, as the train continued on to it's scheduled route shortly after removal of the male. Police did not lay any charges in this matter, as the passenger was believed to be suffering from mental health issues.
