The two suspects fled the scene on foot, with one of the suspects forcing entry into a residence armed with a knife. There was a verbal confrontation with the home owner, at which time the suspect departed, with the homeowner being unharmed. The same suspect ran to nearby rural property where he stole another vehicle, which the Police pursued. The suspect drove the vehicle at a high rate of speed through a field, then rolled. He was arrested and transported to Rocky Mountain House Hospital by Emergency Medical Services, where he was treated for minor injuries then released into Police custody. The second suspect was arrested later in the evening by Police without incident.
Local residents of Clearwater County living in the area where the event occurred provided valuable information which assisted in apprehending the two suspects. The Rocky Mountain House RCMP wish to thank these vigilant and dedicated community members for their assistance.
