RCMP Alberta - On September 4 the Airdrie RCMP responded to an early morning domestic assault complaint that occurred in the Big Springs community of Airdrie.
On September 4, 2018 at approximately 3:00 am, the Airdrie RCMP were alerted to a domestic assault in progress. The victim was able to escape the residence unharmed. The Airdrie RCMP attempted to quickly arrest the male suspect but, the suspect refused to leave the residence. A warrant was applied for and granted to enter the residence to arrest the suspect. With the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Service, the Airdrie RCMP made entry into the residence and made an arrest without incident.
The suspect has been charged with: assault with a weapon, assault and mischief under $5000.00. The male has been remanded into custody and will appear in Provincial Court in Airdrie at a later date.
The RCMP will not be identifying the accused to respect the privacy of the victim.
